Kia ora, I’m Alexander. But in the words of Paul Simon, you can call me Al. I run YPA Home Renovations here in Whanganui, with the help of my admin-extraordinaire (and better half), Lydia. We’re a local, family-run business making an honest crust.
We take on repairs, renovations, and building jobs. The kinds of projects that make your home feel more like yours for the long-term. We keep things simple: turn up on time, treat your home like our own, do the job properly, and aim for the kind of finish you’ll be proud to show off.
THE WHY iN YPA.
My dad had a tool for everything. The kind of man who could fix or build just about anything. I’d sit in his workshop, watching him measure, cut, sand, and solve problems with care and precision. It left a mark on me.
The most valuable thing I learned from him is that every problem can be solved. Starting YPA I’ve come to believe I can fix things, solve problems, and deliver value. Turns out it was already in me, built from the ground up through years of watching and learning.
Dad would often say, “The last 10% takes 90% of the time.” That stuck with me. It got me curious about what happens when you go the extra mile. When you take the time to get it right.
That’s what YPA is built on: craftsmanship with pride, done properly, down to the last detail.
